Today, we took a quick trip to Whole Foods to find some healthy food options! Whole Foods is a great place to shop when you want to eat healthy. You will find tons of organic fresh foods along with snack items like bulk nuts & seeds. Here is what we’re putting in our carts:
- NUTS. We love this awesome fresh trail mix and nut bar found in the deli section of Whole Foods. Homemade trail mix is a great healthy on-the-go snack option! Nuts are great all year round and last for a long time as long as you store them properly! And they are easy to carry with you when you are on the go.
- FRESH VEGGIES. Seasonal and fresh veggies are perfect for healthy fall soups and fresh vegetable side dishes. At Whole Foods, we found fresh spaghetti squash, butternut squash, pumpkins and sweet potatoes! We love to use fresh produce that is actually in season and create healthy meals with them as much as possible. Whole Foods and local farmer’s markets are a great option to find what is in season.
- FRESH FRUIT. Apples are one of our favorite Fall fruits! They are great, healthy food options for those that are on-the-go. Pair them with your favorite nut and you have a fabulous post-workout treat. At home, slice them up and add a side of peanut butter or almond butter to them so you are getting protein. And if you’re feeling festive, serve them with caramel dip as a fun treat!
- WINE. Whole Foods has a delightful Eco Friendly Wine section! While there, we tried this Organic Lucinda and Millie Cabernet. We found that on the pallet, it’s firm but smooth with fresh tastes of dark berries and seasonal fruits! After all, wine is a known anti-oxidant.
